This was as brilliant as it was disturbing. I have a 5-year-old who's just started school. We strongly considered homeschooling due to these concerns. And will be keeping it as an option and keeping our eyes open.

I have a background in a religious cult and fell into progressivism in my 20s so had a visceral reaction to this. Great reminder to trust that icky feeling in the gut; it's rarely wrong.

Something I need to check out. If you do a thought experiment and compare what life was like in 1965 (the year I entered first grade, and yes I'm old) and today you have to wonder. All of these wonderful inventions/technology that are widely available (even the poorest of people have a super computer in their pocket) that have made life so much easier. Think about 1965. Think of what people didn't have and how much harder life was.

Now think about quality of life outcomes since 1965. Mental and physical health, happiness, levels of poverty, intellectual wherewithal, social cohesion. They've all gone in a horrible direction. How? Why? Our education system from K-advanced PHD programs is a good start.
