If you didn’t see this week’s Disaffected, my chronically ill sister had a bad case of meningitis and nearly died. She’s home now. I’ve been at her house for a week and staying a bit longer. And we both thank you for the time you gave us personally today to think over a difficult decision. My sister thinks you're great. I told her you were or I wouldn't be friends with you.
Tell your sister that I've had you in my home, turned my back on you, let you read drafts of things I've written, and hugged you. She is likely one of the few people on this planet who can *truly* comprehend those things as evidence of how terrific I think you are.
Very happy to hear your sister is out of the hospital and continuing to improve at home. Standing rib roast, mashed potatoes, and Wrath of Khan sounds like a perfect family night.
So happy for you that you get to have an experience like this, even in the difficult circumstances.
