Re: Boomer historical fantasies. When Coleman Hughes went on The View a Boomer Leftie relative ranted at me about the falsity of color-blindness (funny; I learned it from this same person when I was growing up) and my god, didn't Coleman understand how much oppression the women on The View have suffered to get to where they are!!??? Of course I wasn't allowed to answer (cluster B, amirite?) but I thought, hell, if someone wants to pay me 8 million dollars a year (Whoopi's reported salary) to be oppressed, drink crap coffee and babble about things I don't understand (like climate change causing eclipses), I can use some of that oppression! I'll be driving around in my Ferrari crying all about it.
Coming of adult age in the 80s (and now I've aged myself) the "hippie movement" was really looked down upon by the "St Elmos Fire" crowd. I sensed that older Baby Boomers from the Woodstock era never got over their "movement" collapsing and then being becoming the butt of a joke.
Many of them keep calling the year 1969 in hopes that someone will pick up the line.
Just imagine a bunch of old people in 1924 mentally still living in the 1860s, how ridiculous that would have been. That’s exactly what we’re dealing with today.
You’ll probably be surprised to hear the part that I like the most. It was when you tried to make a sound for a kangaroo and then you immediately corrected yourself. And then you made some self deprecating comments.
That requires a lot of humility. Humility is one of the most beautiful characteristics that a person could have.
Josh; You are on to things, and with unadulterated humor. Thank-you for YOU!

Another good podcast, Josh.

All that to say, thanks for being you.
