We’re too quick to assume that everyone who is wearing a mask is another one of THOSE people. There are some people who were wearing masks before COVID and still are because they have serious risk of respiratory issues due to multiple factors. I’m one of those. I wear a mask any time I’m out and about because it’s a potential life threatening situation for me. I had oral cancer years ago that started as a tumor on my tongue and quickly spread to the lymph nodes in my neck. I had surgery and received the maximum dose of radiation allowed from the base of my nose down to my nipples. Years later, the radiation damage to my lungs is such that I have to use a nebulizer twice a day and a rescue inhaler in between. If I get any kind of infection or virus in my lungs I’ll be in the hospital. Air pollution, allergens, dust, people wearing too much cologne/perfume, etc, have me gasping for air. I’ve made multiple trips to the emergency room over the last few years. I have no choice but to wear a mask. It’s literally a life or death situation for me. From time to time I encounter people who give me that look. I recently noticed a woman at a gas station giving me a loathsome look, rolling her eyes and shaking her head. I wanted to walk over and bitchslap her. The next time you see someone in a mask, consider the possibility that they might be wearing a mask because they have no choice.
I agree with what you’re saying and my response wasn’t pointed at you specifically, it was intended to illustrate that there’s a subset of people out there that have no choice in the matter and I think there’s a tendency for most people to overlook that.
My problems started post COVID. Such is the nature of radiation exposure that the damage worsens over time and sometimes many years go by before you start to pay the price. During the “crisis” I hated wearing a mask and couldn’t wait to be rid of it. Then I started having problems and now will have to wear one for the rest of my days. It’s just infuriating for me when I do encounter someone out and about that I can tell is lumping me into the “Covid submissive” category. I don’t get that vibe from most people but I get it often enough that it bothers me.
In Southern California, the cancer hospital I go to has always required everyone on the grounds of the hospital to wear a mask - because many have compromised immune systems. This has been going on years before the shut -downs. I'm a recent cancer survivor also so I'm more cautious. Because of the fires we had, and being near the sorting facility for hazardous waste from the fires, there are probably more people in my area wearing masks because of the toxic dust. I've seen some workers at various places - grocery store, gas station, other stores, wearing masks. I will wear a mask if I'm sitting crammed next to other people in a small area for a long period of time. I take my 91- year-old Dad to various doctor appointments and I wear a mask and he wears one while we are there. Too many times we have sat next to people coughing and sneezing. At 88 he fell in his house, couldn't move and was taken to the hospital (then 30 days in rehab hospital) and had Covid, pneumonia, and a slight fracture on outer upper thigh bone. It is a wonder he recovered. I don't make judgments against people wearing masks because they may have medical reasons like compromised immune systems, sensitivity to smoke/dust, etc.
Yes, some people may have valid reasons for masking, such as for protection from allergens or smoke particles. Incidentally, I hear that asthma and allergies can be caused by childhood vaccines. But I think the article clearly focussed on the fear-based mass masking against respiratory viruses.
Interestingly, we also have a 91 year old living at home, my father in law. Although he did not have the insight to resist medical advice to receive multiple injections of a genetic compound that bypassed the immune system of his upper airways, at least he has always had the good sense to refuse to wear a mask. Yes, he caught covid from a friend, after several of those injections, and yes he then passed on covid to his carers, but he remains healthy. I put down his good health partly to NOT wearing masks. I believe that not wearing a mask is very important for allowing his immune system to be continually challenged and updated. I think this is a missing piece of the argument … for most people, NOT wearing a mask is healthy!
It cannot be said often enough that, contrary to what corporate media said then, contrary to the pronouncements of figures like Anthony "The Science™" Fauci, there was NEVER any substantive clinical research that supported any sort of universal face mask mandate as a public health mitigation for infectious respiratory disease.
The entire edifice of universal masking was ALWAYS a lie, and one for which there is a mountain of evidence that Fauci, et al, knew at the time that it was a lie.
Face masks should be seared into our consciousness as the eternal symbol of government deceit.
I’m live in one of the bluest parts of blue California (Bay Area, close to SF). For most of 2023 I was getting full dental implants and I had to visit almost monthly. Both dentists and the entire staff wore masks through that whole year, and made the clients wear them until we had to remove them for the surgery and checkups. I noticed the masks slowly came off on my 2024 annual checkup. It was an election year, after all. Too little and 5 years too late for me. At a major hospital in the area most staff still wear masks but they can’t get away with making patients do so.
Memories ARE short, no doubt (I reread some of the things I wrote 2 years ago and am shocked at the difference of the culture I was addressing) but there's also a systemic gaslighting and suppression campaign. The people who were morally certain (and often quite vicious) about their favored COVID policies are studiously avoiding raising the topic now. The same thing has happened/is happening with BLM and youth gender modifications, etc. It's not attractive to say "I told you so" but I fear that if we don't the same people and powerful institutions will try to wrest control and punish dissenters the next time some poorly understood problem/issue arises.
What we need is a little intellectual humility, and a little kindness. That would be indicated by people actually apologizing for their hasty and misanthropic policy proposals 4-5 years ago.
I think that it's harder for individuals to express their own values these days. More and more of us exist within huge organizations, and federal money/HR/political programming/etc. have all been leveraged to try to make those organizations de facto enforcers of a kind of false public morality. If more people had integrity, or the inclination to think for themselves and speak out, we might have avoided the madness in the first place. I think it was Solzhenitsyn who said that the citizens of modern Western civilization are characterized, above all else, by a lack of courage.
The lesson is, don't cooperate and bow to the insult of one's bodily and personal freedom being taken away when it isn't logically and reasonably justified, and when, exactly, would that ever be unless you've broken a legitimate law?
I did exactly the same thing you did with my dentist and my hairdresser. From early on I never complied with the idiocy of face masks, except in the case of my macular degeneration treatments which due to the nature of the medication has to be done at regularly timed intervals. I protested though. Unfortunately, I'm guessing the fact that most people requiring treatment for that condition are over the age of 65 were probably the ones demanding and squawking if the office didn't carry on with the idiocy.
During mask mania, I walked out of several hairdresser shops and told them exactly why I was leaving. They didn’t care. They are the brainwashed masses who couldn’t see truth if it slapped them in the face and shit down their throat.
As other commenters have pointed out masks can be worn for other reasons (air pollution, allergens, dust etc). Although I'm not sure that your typical 'blue face mask' would provide any kind of effective barrier to these things. Only masks with an airtight seal and special filters attached would.
It's great to challenge receptionists, doctors and dentists on masks in such a diplomatic way. Acknowledging they are not the ones making the rules, gives them an 'out' and makes it a lot less confrontational.
FWIW there is zero science behind the theory of contagion of disease by proximity, or sharing of bodily fluids. Over 200 real world studies conducted over the past century have tried literally everything to make healthy people sick by exposing them directly to the breath, saliva, lung fluid and snot of sick people. These experiments have consistently FAILED to make anybody sick.
Even during the Spanish Flu they smeared healthy volunteers with the snot of sick patients, and had them cough directly into their faces repeatedly (and a bunch of other disgusting things). None of them got sick either.
Contagion of colds and flus is a thoroughly DISPROVEN theory at this stage. But without the general public's belief in (and fear of) contagion there would be no vaccine industry, no social control, no wealth transfers, no PPE industry, and no excuse for kidnapping and quarantining people in purpose built camps, lockdowns, digital surveillance/ vaccine passports or tyrannical control of society.
All of these things depend on the public maintaining their belief in 'viral contagion' - a completely disproven theory.
The model for contagion which was used to dictate government policy in early 2020 (ie lockdowns) made no reference to any of these real world studies (studies which show 'viral contagion' is a myth). Instead it was based on a 2017 experiment by the BBC, Cambridge University and LSHTM to simulate a 'pandemic' with 30,000 smartphone apps and a 'digital pathogen'. The experiment involved no biology whatsoever. That's how they got the data they needed to create the hysteria necessary for a lockdown 3 years later in 2020. They even made the whole thing into a BBC TV show (see linked video at bottom of comment).
There is not a single aspect of the pandemic industry which is not a total fraud.
In addition to all the failed contagion studies, people have also subjected completely sterile cell cultures to the exact same experiments used by virologists to prove the existence of 'viruses'. They have found the exact same particles in these sterile cell cultures, which conform perfectly to the size, shape and appearance of common 'viruses' such as measles, HIV and SARS COV2. This proves that the cell culture experiments themselves produce these particles, which are basically just cellular debris and not the cause of anything (certainly not disease).
The Virology Control Studies Project (find them on substack) is the latest group to perform these control experiments which use the same labs that Big Pharma uses, so nobody can accuse them of fudging the data. Virology is no more scientific than Unicornology. It's just a bunch of pseudoscience to prop up the vaccine industry.
If a doctor or receptionist demands you wear a mask, you can always ask them to provide you with scientific proof of a) the existence of 'viruses' (as they are officially defined) in nature b) contagion of disease by proximity or the sharing of bodily fluids
You can demand the proof conforms to the basic principles of science (falsifiability, proper controls etc) and does not rely on logical fallacies (reification fallacy, circular reasoning, affirming the consequent etc).
Just as mask enforcers rarely get challenged, doctors rarely get asked to provide proof of the existence of alleged 'viruses' or 'viral contagion'. In fact, I doubt your average doctor has EVER been asked to provide such proof!
Maybe now would be a good time to ask for it, before the next 'pandemic' is declared.
I live in BC Canada and a significant percentage of people are still wearing them here. Even outside. I see at least a few of them every time I go anywhere in public. It’s bizarre.
It’s sad that the receptionist at the doctors office agreed with you but continue to work for the doctors office. Not everyone has the balls for mass noncompliance.
Masks are the Lionel blanket for the Cluster Bs. Remember these types loved everything about Covid and will never give it up. It’s also their prominent virtue signaling sign. As far as doctors I don’t trust them. They’ve been compromised on a massive scale

Thanks Terry—I deleted my comment because I jumped the gun too quickly and thought better of it. I’m sorry.

You and others like you are extremely rare exceptions. Most of the people wearing masks in public are simply covid-deranged fools.

20% mask wearers in any population is insane!
Is the lesson that more people are in agreement with the uselessness of masks than appear to be?
Is the lesson that if everyone spoke up, this wouldn't be happening?
Is the lesson that doctors and dentists want to remain in a position of claimed authority over "less knowledgeable" patients?
Is the lesson that doctors and dentists are not critical thinkers?
Let me know if any of these were what you were thinking.
