How far we've fallen. In every direction. To quote Merle Haggard "Are the good times really over for good?"

She certainly was a rare beauty. Her voice is especially lovely in this song. Thank you for sharing it.

Well, 40 years ago it was AIDS and NAMBLA. Maybe, 30 years ago was an improvement over 40 years ago but not by a heck of a lot in my reckoning. 40 years ago, 30 years ago, alcohol and drugs were de rigueur. Nowadays, not so much.

I vaguely remember something about gays and Madonna but, for myself, I’m not that kind of homosexual. I’m more of a J. Edgar Hoover type but, of course, I don’t keep files of dirty secrets and blackmail people. I don’t think popular culture adds much to anyone’s life, at least not to mine, but to each their own.

I don’t miss the old days one bit. The old days were terrible. I hope those days never come back.

Watching that made me sad for her.

Hi Josh, this is Zane. I was recently in Japan, and my trip was very enlightening as far as helping me to understand the insanity of the USA. I encourage you to go if you have the time.

Japanese society is incredibly NORMAL. The news is almost boring in its objectivity. People walk around with their families, smiling. Elderly people were playing beautiful classical piano music for tourists. The infrastructure is amazing and everyone takes pride in their job. Nobody half-asses stuff like they do in the USA. I was in shock at how peaceful life was.

Our country is not sane. This constant infighting is a result of a widespread psychopathic mental illness, as you've correctly identified. You know something is wrong while living within it, but it's 1000x more clear when you leave and see a functional civilization firsthand.
