The Case Against Masks for Children - WSJ

This is a question for those who live in Democrat/Blue areas. I realize that those of you who do not will find this inapplicable.

Do you think everyone else around you approves of masking?

Do you think that you’re one of the few who knows it’s nonsense?

Do you think that the front office staff at your dentist or doctor are all in agreement that Masks Are Good And Effective And Are Now Normal?

It isn’t true. To my surprise.

Suspicious cynicism is my baseline state (and it’s going to remain that way). I often assume that everyone else around me who is acting crazy must actually be crazy.

Not so. It’s more pedestrian. Most people are cowardly, not actually crazy. Most people know the truth, but they’ve convinced themselves that they are too weak to take a stand.

Their real views sometimes come out when a loudmouth gives them an opening.

This morning, I canceled an in-person doctor’s appointment because the clinic is still requiring masking.

I told the staff why I was canceling. You might be surprised at the conversation that happened over the phone.
