How do you talk to God?

I’m going to risk it, because I’d really like to talk to people about this.

How do you talk to God when you’re not sure you believe in God, but you want to? What if you feel weak and silly for wanting to? How does one deal with the feeling of simultaneously talking to a being you don’t really believe in, but feeling like an entitled fraud at the same time?

How do you ask for help or guidance when you feel you don’t deserve it because you’re not even sure you believe anyone is listening, so you certainly haven’t put in “the work” with God?
