These are habits I would cultivate if you're willing to try. I wish I had in youth.
Perhaps most of you already know these; maybe most people do and I’m the outlier.
These don’t come naturally, and I sometimes fail at some of them. They’re worth aiming for just the same.
1. Organize first, then work. Set up all your structures. Folders, indices, check lists. Or don't, and stress as you do each one piecemeal because you can't avoid them.
2. Be prepared. Have the things you need in your purse/glovebox/whatever. Sort your keys out and put them in your hand before you walk up to your dark door.
3. Give things a place, and stick to it. Everything has a place. This is soothing to the mind. It's the chaos of it not having a place that causes stress.
