Excellent episode. I was one of the first group of women in veterinary school in the 1970s. It was extremely demanding academically and the men did not want us there, so a tough environment. You had to the best of the best, and tough skinned with a core of iron. Now our profession has been coopted by the worst women imaginable,, indescribable. Incompetent, liars, corrupt, disrespectful lazy, and cruel to animals, (yes cruel to animals). Our scientific journals are filled with dei, safespaces, how to not commit suicide on the job (knock yourself out, I say) and how to cheat your employer, rather than top grade science and new medical treatments. I have queried every vet I come across for the past 10 years, equine practitioners, small animal vets, vet pathologists, research vets, laboratory animal vets and we are all saying the same thing, no exceptions. Meanwhile while we are overun with small animal practices in shopping centers we have nearly no food animal vets, equine practitioners, dairy vets, poultry vets, the vets that guard our food supply and care for these animals. Don't get me started, I could write a book. Our profession is ruined.

I'm trying to imagine what it's like to be so dumb I don't realize humans and fish are very different. Nope, can't do it.
